BNC (Bayonet Neill–Concelman) is a type of connector commonly found to connect coaxial cables in video and RF applications. It is robust, low-cost, and quick to lock or disconnect with just a quarter-turn. Two types of connector are available as 75Ω characteristic impedance cable is commonly used for SDI and older analogue video whereas RF applications use 50Ω characteristic impedance, the connectors for both can mate together.
